Registration

Registrations may be placed online via the WYOCPA website, by e-mail or by telephone.  Payment must accompany each registration.  WYOCPA accepts VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. Checks need to be made out to the WYOCPA. Postmarks are considered the effective date of registration.

Member Fee: WYOCPA members are afforded a membership registration discount. Members of other state societies with a reciprocal agreement (who do not reside in Wyoming) are eligible for the member price.

Confirmation of Registration

Registrants will receive confirmation by email indicating the time, date, and location of the course. If confirmation is not received three days prior to the course date, contact the WYOCPA to confirm receipt of registration.

Cancellations / Transfers / Substitutions

  • Cancellations received 8 days prior to the course will forfeit $25.00.
  • Cancellations received 7 days or less before the course will forfeit 50% of the fee. However, the registrant may send a substitute or transfer to another course to avoid the penalty. A substitute is subject to the member/non-member fee policy.
  • For cancellations on the day of a course, the registrant will forfeit the entire fee.
  • If a late fee was assessed and the registrant cancels, the late fee is forfeited.
  • "No Shows" forfeit the full registration fee.
  • WYOCPA reserves the right to cancel a course due to insufficient number of registrations. Notice will be given to registrants via email or phone, and a full refund will be sent or transferred to another course.
  • WYOCPA will make every effort to notify registrants if dates and locations of courses are changed.
  • All payments made by credit card will be refunded per the above policy minus the credit card transaction fees.

CPE Credit / Certificate of Attendance

There will be a sign-in sheet at every event.  To receive CPE credit, registrants will be required to sign in when they arrive and will be required to sign out when they leave. For virtual events hosted by WYOCPA, attendees will be required to respond to a minimum of 80% of attendance verification prompts presented throughout the event.

Course evaluations are sent out through Survey Monkey one hour prior to the end of the class. Certificates of attendance will be emailed to participants after 50% of the evaluations are returned and upon verification of the sign-in sheets in the WYOCPA office.

The WYOCPA office maintains class records for three years. Office staff will provide an emailed duplicate attendance verification form to members at no charge. Non-members are charged $25 per duplicate credit sheet.

ADA Special Services

Should the registrant have any special needs, please notify the WYOCPA upon registration.

Level of Knowledge

The level of knowledge stems from the AICPA Statement of CPE Standards which specifies such a classification in relation to the indicated behavioral objectives of each course. Other vendors follow suit. An explanation of each level follows:

Basic covers fundamental principles and skills. This level is for individuals with limited or no exposure to the subject areas.

Intermediate builds on the basic level or upon the fundamental principles and skills and focuses on their application. This level is for individuals with some exposure to the subject areas.

Advanced focuses on the development of in-depth knowledge, a variety of skills, and/or a broader range of applications. This level is for individuals with significant exposure to the subject areas.

Update provides a general overview of new developments. It is for individuals with a background in this area who wish to be kept up to date.

It is the responsibility of the enrollee to ensure that he or she meets the requirements specified by the vendor.

Program Content

Programs presented and publications distributed by the Wyoming Society of Certified Public Accountants are intended to assist accountants in their practices by providing current and accurate information concerning the subject matter covered. However, no assurance is given by the Society that such information is comprehensive in its coverage of such subject matter or that it is suitable in dealing with a client's particular problem or circumstance. Accordingly, information published or provided for by the Society should not be relied upon as a substitute for independent research to original sources of authority. The Society does not render any accounting, legal, or other professional advice, nor does it have any responsibility for updating or revising any programs or publications which it may present, distribute, or sponsor.

Privacy Policy

The Wyoming Society of Certified Public Accountants (WYOCPA) has created a privacy policy to demonstrate our commitment to keeping your online transactions safe and personal and financial information private. These guidelines have been developed with the understanding that they may change as our online business model continues to evolve. Changes to the guidelines will be posted on this page.

Collection and Use of Information

Members have the opportunity to submit information via the WYOCPA web page (www.wyocpa.org) while joining, paying membership dues, registering for CPE offerings, participating in the “Find a CPA” network, and otherwise interacting with the WYOCPA web page. Information collected from these features may include name, employer, addresses, phone and fax numbers, certification and license information, social security number, email address, and credit card information. This information is collected solely to identify the individual, maintain accurate member records, or enroll the individual in programs.

Choices for Sharing of Information

The WYOCPA sends mailings to its members regarding WYOCPA business and WYOCPA-sponsored CPE and other activities. From time to time, the WYOCPA sells its mailing list to vendors offering pertinent services to our members. At the time of joining or renewing membership with the WYOCPA, members can opt out of receiving various WYOCPA mailings and third party mailings in the appropriate section of the membership form. Members can also opt out of receiving these mailings at any time by contacting the WYOCPA (see below).

A “Membership Directory” is available in a password-protected member area of the WYOCPA web page. This directory lists contact information for all members and is provided for the convenience of members. The extraction of large amounts of information from the WYOCPA database, sometimes referred to as “data mining,” is expressly prohibited. No one, member or non-member, may gain access to the WYOCPA “Membership Directory” on the WYOCPA web site in order to “mine” member data for any purpose, including commercial, political, or other solicitation purposes.

The WYOCPA avoids collecting and maintaining information that is considered sensitive. Occasionally such information is used to facilitate attendance at CPE offerings or other WYOCPA meetings (e.g., meals, nametags, special accommodations). Members have the choice not to provide sensitive information such as gender, marital status, ethnicity, religion, or medical information.

Use of Cookies

The WYOCPA may use aggregate web site log information to measure popularity, traffic, and effectiveness of various areas of this web site. The log of information may be collected through a cookie, but it is not personally identifying in these circumstances. A cookie is a small piece of information that can be used to track your visits to a particular site. Cookies are not used for marketing or tracking of any other personal information.

Security

The WYOCPA strives to protect the information provided on its website. However, no data transmission can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Therefore, the WYOCPA cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to or receive from us through our web site or online services.

The WYOCPA operates networks that are password protected and not available to the public. In addition, we contract the web hosting out to a third party. The third party uses firewalls and Secure Sockets Layers (SSL) for data encryption and web server authentication and protection.

Managing Your Information

We recognize that our members have many changes in their circumstances that require a change in information. Members can change their personal information in the password protected area called “Access Your Member Record” under “Members Only” on the navigation bar.
